Goodreads Threadhop: Week 2

I’ve posted a brief interview with the two MC’s of the story, asking them for 3 facts each that we wouldn’t find out in the story. Plus a sexy little snippet, lol! So, if you want to find out why Justin doesn’t like sweet things or what rock walls had to do with Robin becoming a nurse, check out the thread. Be sure to check out Madison Parker’s sweet geek love from yesterday (Best. Pickup. Line. Ever.) and, tomorrow, Max Vos’ grumpy dom. Links are found in the thread.

Still fighting with the cover for Spring. One of these days, maybe we’ll have a vote and let the intended audience choose. We’ll see how it goes.

Tuesday Tickle: If/Then

I’m spending so much time on Knight now, I couldn’t face doing a blog post about it , too. Lol! Two more weeks… *Dies*

Anyway, a snippet from the biopunk story. Eli, our hero/thief, has brought the cyborg to a friend’s bolthole. The friend is an (illegal) expert in biotech.

“Wow,” said Marcel, “That’s some high-end bioware.”

“I guess.” Eli shrugged and handed it over. “So, since you’re the biotech expert, you tell me what’s going on here.”

Marcel accepted it with the awed expression of someone receiving a fabled religious artifact. “I’ve only read about these systems. I can’t believe I’m holding one in my hands!” He paged intently through the different screens. “See, you can adjust their responses to stimuli. It’s all divided into different menus, where you set what kind of responses they have.” His voice trailed off as he scrolled along the screen he was looking at. Marcel tapped an icon, which brought up a block of text, and paled to a sickly white after reading it. He turned his head to look over at the cyborg. “They’ve got you tuned pretty high, don’t they?” he asked it, his voice suddenly gentle.

Don’t forget to check out the Goodreads threadhop. Tonight is a double feature, with Eli Easton’s medieval knights and Jena Wade’s cop and the stripper story.

First half of Knight done. Please let it be good!

I’ve been head down all weekend, either getting the chores out of the way so I could go through the beta comments, or working on the beta. I’ve been through the first 11 chapters of Knight 3 times since 5 pm yesterday. Woo! Boy, I’m tired. I usually end up in tears at least once. This time was no exception. By this point in the process, I’m ready to be done and still miles to go before I sleep.

Never got a word written on the poppy boys this weekend. I’ve been playing around with a series of potential covers for the story. I found a perfect picture over on Shutterstock and now I’ve trying to figure out how to use it properly. Later on, before I submit the story to the MM Romance group, I think I’ll ask for some reader’s choice to help me choose the right cover version for it.

Here’s some hotness, just to keep you company. He’s a brazilian model and another potential candidate for the role of Ben.

My New Workout Regime (It’s not what you think!)

It’s like the Smurf drinking game from college, except with this you get fit instead of fat (and you don’t fall out of the beer tree–long story).

Romance Novel Workout

By the time you’ve done this, you’ll be able to afford the calories from the Smurf’s Drinking Game.

Are we there yet, Papa Smurf?

Goodreads excerpt is up and the Threadhop Begins

So far, I’ve posted a little sexy and, today, a little conflict. Enjoy the boys and don’t forget to follow the links in each post, to see what each author is up to. The content of the threadhop post changes each week, but authors may also post snippets randomly, as they please.

Happy reading!

Had to pass this along–some people have more money than…well, I don’t know

Woman in New Orleans looking for a Robb Stark look alike to break in her replica of the Iron Throne

Okay, so it sounds interestingly kinky, but it also sounds like something a bit more appropriate for FetLife than Craigslist. Still, more power to ya, sweetheart, if you can get one. ‘Cause it gives me hope for my harem fantasy. 😀

Don’t forget to check out my Goodreads link. I’ll have the snippet posted by 5 pm. AST, which is 4 pm, EST. I need the time to decide what I want to post–there’s so many possibilities! Do I go sexy again, or get into some of the other regions of the story? I’ve done a sexy snippet already. Maybe a bit of conflict? Decisions, decisions.

Blurb for the Poppy boys

I’m going to post this over on Goodreads too. If you want to follow the threadhop when it starts tomorrow night, here’s the link.
My Goodreads Thread Link

Here’s the blurb. It’s still kind of rough–I just did it this morning. I’m not sure how long it’s going to end up-right now, it’s at about 6200 words, but there’s a bit to go yet. We’ll have to see what the boys have to say for themselves as the story progresses. 😀

Blurb:

We’ve all heard those stock phrases. “When one door closes, another opens.” “There’s always a silver lining.” “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.”

But, what if you’re the lemon?

After crashing and burning at his job in the Palliative Care Unit, a young nurse takes a cross-country road trip, hoping a break from his routine will be the transfusion he needs to heal his bruised heart. What he doesn’t expect is to fall head over heels in love with a chance met acquaintance, a man who lives in the moment, treating each day as an adventure.

An idyllic afternoon in a field of poppies leads to confessions by both men, but can their relationship survive the return to reality? Are the poppies a symbol of death, or a sign of rebirth?
